One day my dad, mom, sisters, and I went out after Sunday service to do our normal shopping. I remembered at that particular age of 10 not to bug my folks by asking them whether or not they could buy me the latest action figure that came out (I think it was a grappling hook Batman figure). Anyway, I did what any normal ten year old kid would do at a store, wander around and do some wishful shopping. As I stumbled upon the book isle, one particular book caught my eye..It was the 46th book, "How to Kill a Monster" in the famous series Goosebumps. I had previously collected and read a majority of the other Goosebumps books so i thought that this would be a win. As i approached my dad i asked him in a hesitant tone whether it was alright to get this book that I have been dying to read. He looked at me in a paused manner, and after a few seconds of waiting he said, "of course, i can never say no to a book." Times like that remain ingrained in my brain, and I happy that today I still have a joy for reading. I hope you all can find the magic in reading as well.
